Hey, guys!

So, as I’ve said before, I’ve been meaning to look into accepting donations and translation commissions to help pay for my student loans (I pay $256/month from the federal side, ~$50/month for my campus loan), bills my parents are making me chip in for in exchange for NO RENT (just elec and cable, but it’s $360/month), and other miscellaneous costs that might crop up while I try to put more of my paychecks towards getting to move out (currently working a $15/hr temp job that’s set to wrap up in August; planning to ramp up my job search).  I live in the Bronx here in NYC–have for the last three years since returning from my undergrad in Albany–and I’ve been itching to get myself into an apartment with people my age in a better area for a while.  But having to use my paychecks mostly on those bills and to catch up on loan payments doesn’t really leave me much room to work with.

To that end, I’ve finally gotten around to adding a Paypal “Donate” button to my blog, so if I’ve helped you enjoy GX through my translations all these years, see what the differences are between Japanese and English 5D’s (still ongoing as I restore my comparisons lol), or you just enjoy seeing me on your dash, and you have some money to offer, it’d be a great help; if not, even a signal boost would be great! Like I said, I’m willing to work on some translation commissions too; I can translate some songs (examples here), some manga scans, maaaybe even an episode of a show you like? I’m also open to trying to mix for you if you have any audio projects you’re working on, like fandubs or the like (I’m currently working on rescoring DBZKai’s dub with YGO!5D’s music [currently on episode 3], and I also rescored Bonds Beyond Time with a more series-inclusive soundtrack).  I could also try what-ifs (example: a DBZKai episode or clip with ARC-V music), depending lol.  I don’t know what good rates are for all that, though, so if you happen to know what someone who’s offered the same charged, let me know and I could work off of that! 

But yeah, having some side money to handle my loans/bills would definitely be a big help for the time being. :)

Situation update: last week, I started up a new job at a cool company, and it’s a salary job! $30,000/yr which should definitely be a huge boost; catch is, my first paycheck won’t come in until the 15th, and my brief stint of unemployment’s left me pretty broke to try and last ‘til then; I’ve already borrowed $80 from my dad that I’ll be paying back once I’m paid, mostly used to cover my phone bill and Metrocard, and make sure my bank account doesn’t get overdrawn.  Luckily, I’ve got a forbearance on loans still going, so that front’s good for now, but I’ll still have our cable and elec bill to pay once I’m paid.  And I don’t know if he’ll be able to keep spotting me, so while I’m sure it’ll balance out in 2-4 paychecks, having some extra cash would be an immense help for the immediate future, if you’re able to donate or just make me translate something haha.
